Many
professionals display their awards and accomplishments on
their office walls or list them on their websites. Well, I've
got a few awards as well, back from my TV news days. While
in the television industry, I submitted my work in various
contests. I won various awards…
8 Rocky Mountain Emmy's,
Arizona Press Photographer of the Year Award, United Press
International Photographer of the Year, numerous National
Press Photographers awards and many others.
However, after
leaving TV News for Video Production, I never again submitted
any of my work for judging by my peers. Why?
While filming at a Promise Keepers men's conference, I heard
a message called "Life Will Trash Your Trophey's."
It brought home the idea of what is really important and that
life is really short. From that time on, I guess what seemed
important to me changed.
